Hello, my name is Henry and I was born in Calgary, Alberta and moved to BC in 1968. I have been on the Island ever since and don't plan on leaving, except to explore, of course.

I am and animal, plant, tree, landform and ecosystem enthusiast. I have been involved with our local Search and Rescue group for 10 years. My training is very involved - to give you a brief idea: Search and Rescue Manager, Rope Rescue Team Leader, Wilderness Survival, Map & Compass, and Swift Water Rescue Technician Level 1, to list a few.

Kayaking and boating along the West Coast of Vancouver rates high on my list of favorite things to do, but my heart and soul belong in the beautiful mountains that our province has to offer. Winter camping is the most rewarding activity I do. Send me into those pristine mountains any day, by foot, helicopter, cross-country skis or snowshoes. Multi-day trips are the most rewarding. It truly is the only way to feel at one with the wilderness. One day is never enough time to really get the taste of the great outdoors.
